Family Portraits
What a Smile
I wish I had the time to blog about every single session that I’m blessed to do, but alas, my schedule doesn’t allow me the opportunity to do it. I was looking through some of my session pics trying to decide what to write about and came upon this portrait. I don’t know about you, but as an Omaha toddler photographer who specializes in families, children and newborns, I don’t know if it’s possible to catch a cuter smile than what this little guy was flashing for the camera. I can assure you, getting young ones to do two important things at once (1. Look at the camera, and 2) Smile!) can be a real challenge. This little cutie pie nailed both of them! It’s easy to see where he came by the good looks, with two beautiful parents (who could be models in my opinion). I’m also so appreciative when families wear solid color clothing that doesn’t clash with anyone else’s. I’m planning on doing a blog post soon on color recommendations for sessions. Making the right color choices (including background) can make such a huge difference in the look and quality of the final product or portrait. Anyway, I just wanted to make note of this photo because of the beautiful subjects that this Omaha photographer had the pleasure of capturing and because there are so many things ‘right’ about this portrait! If you haven’t had a family portrait done in more than a year, please give me a call at 402-916-9300 to set up a session. Time moves fast, before you know it, your children will be grown!
Family portrait ideas
Fun family photography! I can tell you, without a doubt, these two kids were some of the most fun I’ve had as a family photographer. We had great family portrait ideas in store for them. And it wasn’t because they were up to any of the antics that many kids their age like to play, they were just fun little folks. What might have been the most fun is that they seemed to be perfect representations of their parents. He was such a little southern gentleman, very much like his father, his hair was perfectly combed and he had his best cowboy boots on. She was certainly the more laid back of the two, which provided a really fun contrast to her brother. They were so much fun to shoot. It’s always fun to work with folks who have such great kids. It’s refreshing these days to see parents who are doing such a great job. I can honestly say, I haven’t had any ‘bad’ experiences with any of the photography sessions that I’ve done over the years. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories from others within the industry, but feel like I’ve been really blessed. As a family photographer that has two of my own at home, I know how hard it can be sometimes to keep everything and everyone moving in the same direction, come up with family portrait ideas and especially when asked to sit still and pose for a picture (or in my case, asking them to pose for many, many pictures!). This is one more example of why family photography is such an important part of our lives. Will this cute little guy always have his hair combed and parted so perfectly? Will his sister’s eyes always sparkle with the color that they did then? Who knows? What you can be assured of with a quality family photographer is that you’ll have a great way to remember that certain time in the life of your family.
Remember, take the opportunity to create the memories now, time waits on no one!
Family Pictures
Family Pictures…don’t wait too long. (Omaha Family Photographer) As an Omaha family photographer, I’m always thrilled with the folks who choose to document the lives of their family and yet am equally amazed by the number of people who aren’t capturing their families ‘progress’ at least once a year on film. I can hear it already…”yes, but we take a lot of pictures on our smartphones!” I understand, my husband and I take a lot of ‘random’ shots of our girls on our smartphones, but I will guarantee you, none of them (even those that are ‘posed’) are of the quality that I’d allow on my wall. Have you ever tried to really blow up a smartphone picture? I mean, really blow it up, not just a 5”x7” or 8”x10”, but something that you could display over your fireplace mantle or a similar large space. One of the other issues with ‘phone-pics’ is that not only are they typically not of the quality to go on the wall, very few of them ever make it off the phone. None of this is even dealing with the issue of ‘professional’ portraiture…things like, posing, timing, lighting, etc… these are all factors that make the ‘secret sauce’ for a photographer. So, all that being said, many of my clients agree that having family pictures taken regularly (at least annually) is a very important part of building their family story. There’s just something to be said for having a professional family picture that, years from now, when none of the kids look quite like they did then, makes us all remember how thankful we are for taking the time and having the portraits created. What a great way to be able to look back on wonderful times. Unfortunately, there’ll be a time for all of us when a portrait is the only remaining ‘physical’ memory we have of a loved one who’s passed on. As an Omaha family photographer I will say unequivocally that family pictures should be an important part of your family’s story. What an honor it is to be an Omaha family photographer, I treasure all the great friends I’ve made through my business. I feel so blessed to do what I do!
Remember…time is fleeting, make sure you capture the moment. Call today for your family pictures – you will NOT regret it.
Family Portraits
I love this family!! They also know the value of family portraits. What a privilege it was to work with mommy, daddy and the two ‘little’ babies again! They all came in for a family portrait session and what a great time this Omaha Photographer had. As I’ve mentioned in the past, it’s a real joy to begin with newborn photos (or even maternity shots!) and progress through the life of a young child (and young family), having the opportunity to document their wonderful little lives, every family portrait is a treasure. They’re so easy (ie; photogenic) family to photograph, it makes my job as a family photographer so easy. Watching both Mom and Dad fawn over their wonderful kids is a joy, they’re obviously both head over heels for their kids. It’s so much fun to witness all the wonderful mother/child and daddy/child relationships that I go on during family portrait shoots. It’s also fun to have long time clients who ‘know’ my style, yet are always willing to bring new photography ideas to the session to ask and see how something might work. Most of all, it’s great working with families like the this who truly understand the importance of committing these fleeting, tender years to a professional family photographer. To assure that you capture your family during this magical time, feel free to contact me any time to set up your family photography session, you won’t be disappointed! Remember…time is fleeting, make sure you capture the moment… It’s probably time for a family portrait.
Beautiful Family Portraits Omaha Ne
Everybody loves having quality family portraits hanging on the wall, yet I hear regret so often from clients anguishing over not doing them more often…all I can say is, make them a habit! Many, many of my family portrait clients have commented to me about how important it is for them to document their family life…and I couldn’t agree more. As your Omaha Photographer, I’m often am amazed by the number of folks who aren’t capturing the lives of their loved ones once a year on film, if not more. Now, we all know that it’s easy to whip out your smart phone and grab some shots, but we also both know that there’s a world of difference between ‘I-pics’ and quality family portraiture. When the kids are all grown and out of the house (with kids of their own?), it’s too late. Having memories hanging on the wall brings you right back to that wonderful point in our life. You and your family will never look the way you do today. Unfortunately, sometimes photographs are the only memory we have of a loved one. I was reminded of this recently as a spouse of a high school friend passed unexpectedly at 43 years old. You never know how much time you’ll have to create memories and memorialize them with family pictures. Hopefully, all Omaha photographers will attest to how important family portraits are, and clearly, I can only concur. It’s such a pleasure for me to start out photographing a child as a newborn and then have the opportunity to document their life with photography as they grow up, taking annual family portraits. If you have any family portrait ideas, I’d love to hear your ideas for a shoot that best represents you and your family. What a blessing it is and what great friends I’ve made through this documentation process! Remember…time is fleeting, make sure you capture the moment with photography.
